Restoring a Nation

 by Troutski

Outdoor enthusiasts, nature lovers, and people who own the worry that comes from watching our parks and lands fall to ruin, or be purchased and utilized for industrial purposes – are taking the time to restore local parks and neighborhoods. They’re also finding out that this is a fantastic way to spend that priceless recreational time.

Not only is working on a project with your friends, neighbors, town, or whole state a great deal of fun that comes along with amazing results, but the restoration of National Parks also provides benefits for Americans that cannot come from anywhere else.

Think about the grand scale. Restoring a park actually sustains economies, maintains healthy ecosystems, addresses climate change, imgresand creates more American jobs. (And, yes, the Government Shutdown ridiculousness will end, which means these extra jobs will be there).

From California to the Great Lakes; Louisiana to Maine; Connecticut to Colorado – everywhere in the U.S., individuals are getting together to clean up, and restore natural habitats for the next generation to be able to enjoy.

When it comes to actually bettering our country’s economic resources, there are a list of projects that have already shown huge help for individual state economies as they work to restore land and water.

Take, for example, the State of Connecticut. By restoring the coastal wetlands, housing values increased more than $11,000. When it comes to the Great Lakes, implementing a restoration project could actually support almost $50 billion in economic activity in that region. In Washington, they are working to restore the Elwha River in Olympic National Park, which is projected to bring over a thousand jobs to Clallam County, Washington, alone.

Gateway counties; land that is adjacent to national parks, public lands, and wilderness areas, are getting the focus of Americans. These are areas that, if restored, will provide all the jobs, personal income, and population growth that every area needs.

When people are searching for the ultimate outdoor activity, it is no wonder that more and more are turning to help as being their ultimate well of fun. The help that’s given to each area not only aids the vegetation and animal life, but more and more people are coming together to solve the world’s climate change problems.

National Parks are the most necessary for this country. And, yes, even though the shutdown has these areas closed until they can figure out what they’re doing in Washington, the areas themselves are still being kept up and new projects and strategies are being worked on every day to make this world run better.

Individuals are being asked to input their (more than two cents) when it comes to park planning. After all, individuals make a huge impact on the future of National Parks, and their brains, hard work, and creativity make a difference that lasts forever.

With more and more projects being taken on, all citizens should be well-informed that The National Park Service (NPS) listens to the public when planning for the future of a park – so speaking up at public meetings or using the internet world to help with these situations is a must.

Writing letters to park superintendents stating your interest in helping the area can do wonders. After all, if the park or the project is in your community, the people in charge want to hear from you. They want to hear your ideas on how to make the park areas better and cleaner.

While doing things like this, you not only become part of a pretty extensive team that’s working to create a better, healthier America; but you are also helping to build and protect places that you and your family absolutely love.

So as nature lovers turn to creating new habitats for wildlife and work on restoring areas that need the most help – this country will once again be the most stunning that the world has to offer.

How Are Retail Sales in 2017?

Despite consumer uncertainty, as well as a very sluggish beginning to 2017, the U.S. retail sales industry is projected to increase 4% this year. Headlines show that many retailers and companies posted “soft” holiday sales to end 2016, which caused some notable retailers to either cut jobs or close stores as a result. However, when it comes to 2017, the National Retail Federation (NFR) released an economic forecast projecting the retail industry (this excludes automobiles, gas stations, and restaurants) to grow and reach that 4% increase aim.
