We need your help to stop this from happening –please contribute today!

On August14th Utah officials held a public meeting to discuss an ongoing $450,000 study on how much money Utah can make by grabbing federal public lands.  But the answer is already clear: if Utah seizes these lands it will be an economic disaster for the state and an environmental train wreck for all of us.

Proponents of the land grab insist state ownership will increase state revenue through more resource extraction, including coal mining in the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.  And it will allow the state to ignore federal environmental laws.

With your support we’re fighting back.  Your donation will help ensure that our redrock wilderness landscapes – which are the birthright of all Americans – are protected.

The good news is that the majority of the Utahns at the meeting opposed the land grab and spoke of the need to preserve these special places.  They also noted that funds to manage federal lands in Utah come from taxes paid by people throughout the United States – all of whom share equal title.

These lands belong to all Americans.

It’s our land and our redrock wilderness heritage that the State of Utah wants to take from us.

Help us stop this unprecedented land grab by making a contribution today.
