The 196DC is based on a fuel-efficient, wide-beam hull design and loaded with extra features.

In addition to its signature walkthrough-dual console design, the 196DC includes standard options such as dual livewells, a large insulated fish box, rod holders, gunwale rod rack storage and an open cockpit. All it needs to become the ultimate all-purpose boat is the optional ski bar — providing hours of family fun.

The 196DC is 19-feet, 6-inches at the centerline and sports an 8-foot, 2-inch beam. Weighing in just shy of 2,000 pounds without motor, the 196DC is easily trailerable with most family vehicles. Its 56-gallon fuel tank feeds a reliable Yamaha four-stroke engine than ranges from 115- to 150-hp. The boat’s 50-degree bow deadrise helps it cut through most any chop you’ll encounter in rivers, lakes and coastal tributaries and the 17-degree transom deadrise provides a solid, stable platform. The 23-inch gunwale height makes for a dry, comfortable and safe platform.

As with all Tidewater boats, the available options are endless. Owners can chose from a variety of console layouts and options, as well as

custom covers and Bimini-style canvas offerings to help keep things cool when boating weather heats up.

Here is something that isn’t optional: Tidewater’s commitment to, and pride in, quality construction and manufacturing.

The Tidewater 196DC is available in seven colors: white, carbon (gray), sky blue, bimini blue, fusion blue, island green and black. Other standard options include a self-bailing deck and cockpit, automatic bilge pump, LED nav lights, aluminum backing plates for deck hardware, horn, hydraulic steering, front and rear jump seats, a rear center seat, as well as stainless steel hardware including thru-hull, rub rail, steering wheel and knob, hardware, flush-mount cleats and more.

Each member of the Tidewater family of boats features all-composite, no-wood construction with fiberglass stringers and a hand-laid fiberglass hull. Each boat is rigged to AYBC standards and is backed by a 10-year transferable hull warranty. Vacations…Underground

There are millions of spots to visit and sites to see around the world when it comes to vacation time; however, there are also those you can’t necessarily “see.” In this world of digital technology and highly imaginative architecture that creates buildings that are higher and more “glitzy” than ever before, it is important to remember that in ancient times, people were building “down.” Various civilizations created locations underground, while others actually got buried by Mother Nature and simply forgotten about. Let’s begin internationally…

Buying & Selling: Learning the Art of the Tag Sale

When people speak about making a few extra bucks, there is more than one way to skin a cat these days. Perhaps you’re trying to save up for a vacation for the family to take this summer. Perhaps you are looking for collectibles to invest in. Oddly enough, many people do not realize what, exactly, was in Great Grandma’s house when she passed on to a happier place. There are even those who will put her things on a table, mark them twenty-five cents, and declare them to be old knickknacks (AKA: things you need to dust every five seconds.) Trouble is, a lot of those knickknacks can actually be worth hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Heck, there have even been things found at tag sales that have been resold in the millions. No. Not kidding. Are the chances immense that you’ll find such a buy? No. But, there have been those that have proven this particular once-in-a-lifetime-event can happen.
